ANTHONY HAMLET, Ed.D.

Learner – Futuristic – Relator – Strategic – Command

With a distinguished career spanning more than 30 years, Dr. Anthony Hamlet has emerged as a transformational leader in education, known for his expertise in turning around struggling schools and improving student outcomes. His journey began in Palm Beach County, where he served as a case manager and behavioral specialist with a county mental health unit before transitioning into roles such as teacher, Dean of Students, Assistant Principal, Principal, and District Administrator. These diverse experiences laid the foundation for his rise as an influential educator, and his exceptional leadership earned him five awards as Principal of the Year in Florida from various organizations, including the Florida Department of Education.

Dr. Hamlet’s transformative approach continued during his tenure as Superintendent of Pittsburgh Public Schools (PPS), where he took swift action to unify the district. He restructured PPS from a fragmented system of schools into a cohesive “school system,” aligning the Central Office with comparable districts and ensuring teachers and students received the support they needed. Under his leadership, Pittsburgh Public Schools experienced groundbreaking reforms that resulted in significant increases in student
achievement and reductions in suspension rates. These efforts earned him national recognition, including being named a finalist for the prestigious Green Garner Superintendent Award in 2018 and 2020 by the Council of the Great City Schools.

A native of Palm Beach County, Dr. Hamlet’s personal and educational journey is rooted in the same community where he launched his career. He attended Palm Beach County Public Schools and later earned a Bachelor of Science in General Studies from the University of Miami, where he was also a member of three national championship football teams with the Miami Hurricanes. After his collegiate athletic career, Dr. Hamlet played professional football for three years, including stints with the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks and Indianapolis Colts, the Canadian Football League’s Winnipeg Blue Bombers, and the Arena Football League’s Florida Bobcats.

Dr. Hamlet furthered his education with a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University in 2003 and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Nova in 2007. Committed to continuous improvement, he also completed advanced training at Harvard University’s School Turnaround Leaders Program in 2014 and the AASA/Howard University Urban Superintendents Academy Certification Program in 2015, equipping him with cutting-edge strategies to drive systemic change.

Today, Dr. Hamlet serves as the President and CEO of CSI Strategies LLC, a consultancy based in Delray Beach, FL, dedicated to revolutionizing educational systems. His firm focuses on developing equity-centered policies, culturally responsive practices, and innovative instructional strategies that prepare students for college, career, and life. Through CSI Strategies, Dr. Hamlet helps schools and districts dismantle systemic barriers and implement evidence-based solutions, delivering a strategic blueprint for
